A community garden needs its community. We’d love to hear your gardening ideas, suggestions and cooking ideas too. We have regular working bees and BBQs and everyone is welcome.
We have a waiting list for people who want to become a plot holder. Members who are not plot holders can help out in our communal areas.
All the plots at the Merri Corner Community Garden now have tenants. But if you wish to be placed on the waiting list for a plot, please continue to the application process below.
There are a limited number of plots available to be allocated on the site. Applicants need to complete this form to enable the Committee to assess and prioritise applications and assign them to the waiting list.
Eligibility Criteria:
1. Must live within 3 km of the garden.
2. Must have less than 6m2 of useable garden space
Priority will be given to those applicants:
• Who have been on the waiting list the longest
• Who show effort and provide assistance to the garden by attending working bees or volunteering in any other capacity
• Who are healthcare card holders
Plot cost
Small – $60 full $36 conc
Medium – $90 full $54 conc
Large – $120 full $72 conc
Small plots are 5-6 sqm and suitable for 1 person
Medium plots are 8-10 sqm and suitable for 2-3 people
Large plots are 12-15 sqm and suitable for 4 or more people

Become a member
For a $20 yearly fee ($10 concession), come and get your hands dirty, put your name on the list to be a plot holder, share your ideas or skills, nominate yourself for the committee – there are lots of ways you can get involved:

Attend regular meetings
MCCG meetings generally happen monthly and are held at either the Edinburgh Castle (cnr Albion and Sydney Rd) or at a MCCG Committee Member’s house. All members are welcome to attend! Contact us on [email protected] if you would like to come along to a meeting or have any suggestions for the committee.
Sponsor or donate to the MCCG!
The garden operates as a cooperative. Are there any other specialty skills or experience that you can offer to the group? i.e. gardening, legal, grants writing, fundraising, public relations, facilitation, trades skills.
Are you able to sponsor, donate money or tools, or provide a service/product to the growth of the garden?
If you’re a local business or tradesperson who wants to support the MCCG, sponsoring the garden is a great way to get behind a great long-term community project that will thrive for many years to come.
And of course, we welcome donations of gardening tools, seedlings, soil, and any other useful bits and pieces that gardeners could use to plant, dig, store, and grow!
